History 110v Timeline 鈥 Engendering East Asian History

History is all about researching the past, a process that usually culminates in an essay or paper.  But that鈥檚 not the only way to share the results of our research.

Students in the Fall 2017 research seminar 鈥淕ender, Sexuality and Feminisms in Modern East Asia鈥 made interactive timelines based on their research.  The class, taught by Professor Angelina Chin, researched some of the more cutting-edge and understudied topics in Asian history. Including: feminist interpretations and critiques of women鈥檚 status; gender inequality articulated by activists and theorists; gender and nationalism; 鈥渃omfort women鈥; sex rights; and queer movements.

The result of all their hard work are now available to view online.  Click on one of the links below to check them out.
