2021 Commencement Recap

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Class of 2021 Commencement ceremony was held online in June of 2021. Activist Ady Barkan, renowned conductor Gustavo Dudamel and Pulitzer Prize-­winning journalist Bill Keller ’70 delivered commencement addresses to the graduates. Barkan, Dudamel and Keller were each recognized with an honorary degree by the College.

In addition, °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û2023 President G. Gabrielle Starr provided a Charge to the Class of 2021, while Senior Class President Malak Afaneh ’21 and Senior Class Speaker Brandon Anh-Dung Trần ’21, addressed their class.

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û2023 was thrilled to welcome back graduates from the Classes of 2020 and 2021 for Take Two: A Celebration of the Classes of '20 and '21 for in-person celebration events, including a special combined commencement ceremony. President G. Gabrielle Starr provided a , and the speaker for the Class of 2020 was Associate Professor of Chemistry .

The weekend schedule included festivities for graduates on Friday, May 20 and ended with brunch on Sunday, May 22. Families were invited to join their graduates in a day of °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û2023 traditions, including the special Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 21.
