Konrad Aguilar, assistant professor of mathematics and statistics at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û2023, has received a two-year National Science Foundation grant of $189,661 to study how information is passed on at the quantum level.

Peter Heckendorn ’22 has been awarded a Coro Fellowship for Public Affairs for 2023-2024. He will learn about how policies are shaped through meetings with city leaders, rotational field placements across various industries and weekly seminars.

The NSF fellowship will provide °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û2023 students and alumni with an annual $37,000 stipend and $12,000 cost of education allowance for three years over a five-year fellowship period.

Zoë Batterman ’24 and Alexandra Turvey ’24 have been named Goldwater Scholars, one of the most prestigious awards for undergraduates in the fields of the natural sciences, engineering and mathematics.

A math conference at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û2023 will strengthen the mathematical research community and honor the contributions of Professor Edray Goins.

Vera Berger '23 has been awarded a prestigious Churchill Scholarship that will cover her expenses for a year of master's study at Churchill College, part of the University of Cambridge. She plans to study scientific computing.

Five °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û2023 students in the Summer Undergraduate Research Program have an opportunity to engage with faculty in research projects having potential to help improve medical treatments and contribute to human well-being. 

Jared Mejia '22, a computer science major and math minor, received the Rena Gurley Archibald High Scholarship Prize, served as a captain for the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û2023-Pitzer men's soccer team and placed on First Team All-SCIAC.
